Program Description
The Logistics program at Arizona Western College currently offers a Basic Logistics Certificate, designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in logistics and supply chain management. This certificate provides foundational knowledge and practical skills essential for success in the logistics field, with a focus on the core components of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Basic Logistics Certificate: LGS 111 (3 Credits)
- This course introduces students to the key components of logistics networks, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory. Students will learn to evaluate transportation modes, design efficient warehousing systems, and develop cost-effective logistics networks that enhance customer service.
Students who complete this certificate will gain a strong understanding of logistics operations, preparing them to enter the workforce with the knowledge needed for a variety of roles in logistics and supply chain management.
This certificate is taught by Buna George, Executive Director of the Greater Yuma Port Authority and Professor/Coordinator for the Logistics Program at Arizona Western College.
