What to Expect
- Guided Walking Tours: Led by AWC Matador Ambassadors and Outreach staff, these tours offer insights into academic programs, student life, and campus resources.
- Tour Duration:
- Individual tours 30 minutes
- Group tours up to 3-4 hours
- Tour highlights: Explore key areas like the Welcome Center, 3C-Building, Residence Halls, Matador Activity Center (MAC), Athletics Complex.
Seasonal Tips
- Tours are typically scheduled in the morning during hot weather.
- Special accommodations (i.e. language interpreter, wheelchair) can be made with adequate notice.

Taking a campus tour is the best way to experience life as a Matador. We offer multiple ways for you to visit and learn more about becoming a Matador. Early College Explorers (K-5th Grade)
Early College Explorers Campus Tours aim to acquaint young learners with the collegiate setting. Offered year-round, these one-hour visits inspire elementary students to envision a path toward higher education.
I’m Going to College (5th Grade)
“The I’m Going to College day motivates students to look forward to their educational journey with excitement and curiosity about career opportunities and dual enrollment through an exceptional hands-on experience.” Biridiana Martinez, AWC Outreach, Recruitment and Early College Program Director . Each semester, AWC extends an invitation to two elementary schools, aiming to encourage 5th graders to envision a future in higher education. Since the program’s launch in 2010, it has welcomed over 3,032 students. Future Matador Days (6th-8th Grade)
Future Matador Days are designed to offer insights into college readiness, as well as major selection and career discovery. Available throughout the year, this half-day event welcomes middle school and junior high students to explore and learn.
Explore AWC (9th - 11th Grade)
Explore AWC Campus Tours are an exciting part of the journey to becoming a Matador. Embarking on an Explore AWC Campus Tours is a pivotal and exhilarating step towards embracing the Matador spirit. Prospective students and their families are invited to schedule visits to Arizona Western College, where they can immerse themselves in the collegiate atmosphere, delve into the academic options available, assess whether Arizona Western College meets their college and career aspirations.
High School Senior Days (12th Grade)
AWC Senior Days offer a glimpse into the Matador experience for prospective Arizona Western College students. This half-day event allows attendees to immerse themselves in campus life and engage with academic resources. Open to individual students or high school groups, Senior Days are scheduled annually in October.
