New students who have not previously attended AWC can get started with the guide below.

Returning students who have not taken AWC courses within the past year will need to sign-in to their admission account and reapply for admission.  If you encounter any issues accessing your account, we can help you unlock it and reset your password. Please email us at admission@azwestern.edu to avoid creating duplicate accounts.

Students who have attended AWC within the past year do not need to reapply and are encouraged to register for classes on Self-Service or make an Advising Appointment to select classes and create a degree plan.

Apply

Your first step is simple. Just create your admissions account and complete our brief online application.

If you are a returning student who has previously created an admission account, we can assist you in unlocking your account and provide you with a temporary password. Please email us at admission@azwestern.edu to avoid creating duplicate account.

Accounts and Passphrase

After submitting your application for admission, you will receive two emails. The first email will contain your AWC ID number. The second email will provide your new AWC student email address and a link to set up your 17-character passphrase.

Your new student account will provide you with access to Self-Service to register for classes online.

If you do not receive the first email with your AWC ID number within 24 hours, please contact Admissions at admissions@azwestern.edu or (928) 317-6369.

If you do not receive the second email with your AWC student email address within 24 hours or need further assistance setting up your new passphrase, please reach out for support, call (928) 317-5892 or visit Support.

Financial Aid

Eligible students may receive financial aid to help pay for the cost of attendance. Complete your FAFSA as early as possible to see what you are eligible for.

Testing

Math: Please visit the Mathematics Guided Self-Placement page to help you determine the appropriate course(s) based on your current math skills.

English/ESL: Please fill out the English Guided Self-Placement (requires account and login) or the ESL Guided Self-Placement (requires account and login) form to assist you in choosing the appropriate course(s).

Orientation and Advising

New students should attend an orientation session to meet with an advisor and get ready to register for classes. Register for Discover AWC at azwestern.edu/orientation

Register for Classes

Before you can register for classes for the first time, you must verify your citizenship status as required by Prop 300. Students need to provide acceptable documentation to prove their citizenship. Generally, an Arizona-issued driver’s license or identification card, or a U.S. passport will suffice. Payment

Student Photo ID

After registering for classes, you can get your AWC ID Card at the Campus Life office. There is a $10 fee for the AWC ID Card, which you can pay at the Cashier’s office in the 3C Building.

Textbooks

Be sure to purchase your textbooks in time for the start of class!

Students will purchase their textbooks and course materials from the websites or vendors of their choice, or at the guidance of their faculty.
