Yuma, AZ (June 25, 2018) – High school students recently graduated from a week-long Law Enforcement Industrial Cooperative Education (ICE) Student Summer Program hosted by Arizona Western College. The graduation took place on Saturday, June 23, in the Schoening Conference Center at the AWC Yuma Campus.
Yuma, AZ (June 18, 2018) – Arizona Western College Professor of Biology Joann Chang has been selected for a year-long Physiology Education Community of Practice (PECOP) Fellowship by the American Physiology Society (APS).
The PECOP project is designed to build a growing and dynamic community of undergraduate physiology educators who interact, share resources, and collaborate on an ongoing basis.

FREE preparation for math placement and testing at AWC at summer learning camp for young students
Yuma, AZ (June 7, 2018) – Arizona Western College announced today that the fees will be waived for students interested in the Mathematics Readiness Camp. There will be a number of camp opportunities for young students this summer including Summer Science Camp, CTE & Mathematics.
Multiple grant-funded CTE & Mathematics Readiness Camps will be available to students ages 15 and up.

When Randy Hartless moved to Parker in 1990, he enrolled at Arizona Western College with no clear plan of what degree he wanted to pursue. He started taking a variety of courses because he had an interest in learning, but it wasn’t until 20 years later, at age 52, that he decided to focus on earning an associate degree.
Class of 30 becomes first known cohort from AWC to all earn nursing license on first attempt

Yuma, AZ (June 4, 2018)-A strong collaboration between the Arizona Western College Foundation and the Consulate of Mexico in Yuma, Arizona continues as the 2018 Memorandum of Understanding is signed with an objective of increasing the educational level of Mexicans or Mexican origin living in the United States through the program “IME-Becas”.
This is a program of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad that seeks to expand educational opportunities for low-income Mexicans and Mexican origin students who are currently enrolled in a degree program at Arizona Western College.
Call for submissions to begin in August for 2018 exhibit
Yuma, AZ (May 29, 2018) – Yuma County received a national achievement award for the Hispanic Heritage Art Exhibition “Origins” put on by the San Luis Library and Arizona Western College San Luis Learning Center. The exhibit is held annually at the San Luis Library in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The National Association of Counties (NACo) recognized Yuma County with the award, which honors innovative, effective county government programs that enhance services for residents.
