College is an exciting time for new students and we are here to facilitate a successful start to life as a Matador. We strongly encourage all new students to participate in Discover AWC (new student orientation) prior to starting your first semester of classes.

What is Discover AWC?
Discover AWC is our weekly event for all NEW students planning to register for Fall or Spring semesters and want comprehensive assistance in getting started on their first step into college. Sessions are available at the Yuma Campus, San Luis Campus, and Somerton Campus.
Orientation to Advisement and Registration is designed for all incoming students to provide them with the necessary information, resources and advising assistance to help them have a successful start and experience at AWC. Participants will learn about AWC degrees and certificates, the importance of Guided Course Placement, tips on how to choose classes, ideas on how to build a semester schedule, how to register for classes using Student Planning, an introduction to other digital services like Canvas & Student Email, and other important topics necessary for a successful transition into college.
Who should attend Discover AWC?
Discover AWC is designed for all new part-time or full-time students attending any AWC site.
How much does it cost to attend?
There is no cost to attend Discover AWC.
What do I need to do to prepare for Discover AWC?
Students should: (1) complete the Guided Course Placement; (2) set-up their AWC NetID* (for access to Self-Service/Canvas/Student Email); (3) plan to make arrangements for tuition payment and/or apply for financial aid.
