Arizona Complete Health provides funding for Allied Health programs
January 13, 2025Yuma, AZ (January 14, 2025) – On January 21, Arizona Western College Allied Health programs will receive a $50,000 grant, thanks to a generous contribution from Arizona Complete Health. The funding comes out of Arizona Complete Health’s Community Reinvestment Program, an initiative that financially supports organizations working to improve the health of local communities.
“This is another great demonstration of the AWC Foundation creating partnerships with our community partners, in this case Arizona Complete Health, to support our students in their academic endeavors who will then give back to our thriving community,” commented Dr. Joann Chang, Executive Director and Dean of Healthcare Programs. “Our healthcare workforce is in demand, and we cannot do what we do without community support. Thank you to Arizona Complete Health in helping our students reach their academic goals.”
AWC currently offers 11 degrees and certificates in Allied Health fields, including Behavioral Health, Community Health Worker, Grief & Bereavement, Medical Assistant, Medical Coding & Billing, Nursing Assistant, and Phlebotomy. By benefiting these programs and their students, this funding will significantly impact AWC’s efforts to meet the state’s need for healthcare workers.
The check will be presented on Tuesday, January 21 at 4:00 p.m. near the fountain East of the Yuma Campus LR Building. A campus map can be found here.
The media is invited to attend this event.
