College students invited to annual Student Etiquette Luncheon

April 1, 2025

Yuma, Ariz. (April 1, 2025) – Students from Arizona Western College, local partner universities, and college students at work in the Yuma community are invited to learn business etiquette principles during an annual luncheon event.

The 12th Annual Student Etiquette Luncheon introduces students to a professional dining experience while providing opportunities to network with leaders in the community. In addition, attendees are instructed in the valuable dynamics of dressing for success, with a fashion show partway through the event. Upon completion, students will receive a Professional Etiquette certificate and become eligible for a $500 scholarship sponsored by Fly Yuma.

“The AWC Etiquette Luncheon is an interactive, collaborative workshop designed to equip students with the latest professional etiquette and networking skills,” shared Dr. Michelle Sims, AWC Professor of Economics. “During this event, campus and community leaders guide students through practical activities on dressing to impress, effective workplace communication, the importance of work ethic, and opportunities for volunteering both on campus and in the community.”

Business casual attire is required for this event. Students in need of an outfit can check out The Cubby, AWC’s free business clothing resource, for items such as slacks, blouses, jackets, belts, shoes, and more. Students can register here for the luncheon by April 12. The $10 non-refundable registration fee can be paid here

The event will be held on Thursday, April 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Schoening Conference Center at the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave 8E.
