
Community of Learners event to celebrate South County graduates
April 29, 2025San Luis, Ariz. (April 28, 2025) – Arizona Western College graduates living in San Luis, Somerton, and Gadsden will be celebrated this Friday at the annual Community of Learners Recognition Ceremony. The celebration honors South County students that are completing the ESL program, earning a certificate, or graduating with an associate degree.
"South Yuma County is a magical place to work, where serving students drives everything we do,” said Susanna Zambrano, Associate Dean for South Yuma County Services. “The Community of Learners event is a powerful celebration of the dedication, resilience, and unity of our students, faculty, and staff. It reflects our commitment, pride, and passion for the communities of San Luis, Gadsden, and Somerton."
Certificates will be presented to all honorees at the ceremony, and those obtaining an associate degree will receive an Academic Achievement Medallion to wear with their regalia at the AWC Commencement on May 16th.

The Community of Learners will take place on Friday, May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. in the San Luis High School Auditorium. A mixer will immediately follow the ceremony outside of the auditorium.
