AWC Youth Choir Summer Camp Starts June 13
May 24, 2017AWC Continuing Education and Yuma High School have partnered to bring back the AWC Youth Choir Summer Camp. The Camp will be from June 13 to June 23 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Youth must be entering 3rd grade or higher to participate. All rehearsals will be held in the Yuma High School Choir Room and the end of camp concert will be at Snider Auditorium on June 23rd.
Laura Surguine is the camp’s instructor and she received a Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College and a Master of Music from Arizona State University. Laura has taught all music levels, K-12, between her time in New Jersey and Arizona, and was director of Education at Arizona Opera for seven years. She is currently the Choir Director at Yuma High School.
The camp is offered at no cost for students living inside the Yuma High School attendance boundary, and at the low cost of $30 per child for those outside the YHS area. They can accept credit card payments over the phone and cash, check, and money order payments must be processed in person. The AWC Downtown Center is open Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
