AWC confirms fourth staff case of COVID-19, temporarily shutters Yuma County campus locations


Yuma, AZ (May 28, 2020) – A fourth member of the college’s essential team tested positive for COVID-19 this week causing the college to temporarily send all essential employees home for 10 days, to return on Monday, June 8. Remote work by college employees will continue.

The ill employee is hospitalized in stable condition. This past Tuesday the college announced 3 positive cases from the same essential employee team. All three are resting at home, recuperating, and their teammates send best wishes to the four employees and their families.

Arizona Western College confirms three staff cases of COVID-19


Yuma, AZ (May 26, 2020) – Today teams at Arizona Western College confirm that in the past 24 hours, three (3) members of the college’s essential teams who have been working at the Yuma Campus have tested positive for COVID-19.

All three are resting at home, recuperating, and their teammates send best wishes to them and their families.

All three employees were quick to take their symptoms seriously, to self-isolate as soon they felt symptoms, to seek testing, and to share the results with Human Resources.

AWC Disburses Federal Stimulus Funds to Spring 2020 Students

Yuma, AZ (May 8, 2020) – Students enrolled in for-credit classes on March 13 of 2020 will be receiving stimulus funds in their accounts or mailbox, as long as they qualify to receive such funds based on U.S. Department of Education rules.

Student Health and Wellness Department encourages campus to stay connected


Yuma, AZ (April 24, 2020) – During a time when students, staff, and faculty are being asked to stay home, the Arizona Western College Student Health and Wellness Department is encouraging the campus community to still stay connected.

"Due to the current national emergency situation, many of us have had to transition to online courses and working remotely from home, in addition to other immense changes in our lives and the difficulties and complications that result from doing so,” said Student Health and Wellness Coordinator Christine Rouff.
