Parker Campus to present Open Mic Night opportunity

March 11, 2020

Parker, AZ (March 11, 2020) – Students and artists from the community are invited to come express their creativity during an upcoming Open Mic Night at the Arizona Western College Parker Learning Center, 1109 Geronimo Avenue.

The artist showcase will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. The American Literature Class at the AWC Parker Campus is sponsoring the event.

The intent is to allow artists, writers, or anyone with a talent, a safe place to showcase and enjoy each other’s work. Performances are expected to be between four to six minutes long with sign-ups handled on a first-come first-served basis until 20 acts have been acquired.

While AWC encourages freedom of expression in artistic matters, participants are asked to refrain from gratuitous references to violence or slurs based on race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. AWC faculty and staff will have the final say on when such content has no artistic merit.

The event is intended for participants and spectators 14 years of age and older.

Light refreshments will be available.
