Calling Entrepreneurs to Startup Weekend!
March 6, 2018AWC, NAU Yuma hosting Startup Weekend for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Yuma, AZ (March 5, 2018) - Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University Yuma are hosting their second Startup Weekend on March 23-25, to help aspiring entrepreneurs launch new business ideas and technologies.
Last year’s inaugural Startup Weekend resulted in several business ventures and prizes awarded to participants.
People are invited to come share their business ideas during the three-day weekend event where they will work to solve business-related problems assisted by a group of university/college business faculty and local business leaders. Participants, working in teams, will develop prototypes representing the solutions to the respective team-assigned problems and proposals that they will present to a panel of judges, also comprised of university/college business faculty and local entrepreneurs. The top three teams will receive prizes for their work.
All are welcome to participate regardless of age or past business experience.
Registration for the event is $25, which includes meals. Those interested in only observing the results can purchase an observer tickets for $20.

Startup Weekend is part of the ongoing efforts of the AWC Matador Business Incubator and the NAU Yuma Business Innovation Accelerator to promote entrepreneurship and economic development in the southwestern region of Arizona.
The event is also supported by other sponsors including: the Yuma Chamber of Commerce, Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation, 4FRONTED, and AWC Small Business Development Center as well as entrepreneurship programs from the following Mexican educational institutions: CETYS, Universidad Politecnica de Baja California, and Universidad Tecnológica de San Luis Río Colorado.
