AWC launches new Electronics classes to meet industry need

Yuma, AZ (April 29, 2024) – Arizona Western College has launched new Electronics classes at the Wellton Manufacturing Training Center to meet an industry need in the local region. Students seeking employment in the electronics and test industry will gain in-demand skills by enrolling in these new classes.
“Embark on an exhilarating journey into the realm of electronics with Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College's Basic Electronics 101 Certification. Designed for entry-level students, this 6-week hybrid course combines online modules with hands-on sessions, starting with Electronics and Test Technology I on May 13. Thanks to available grant funding, the course is accessible to all,” said Jim Larson, AWC Director of Manufacturing.
The new Electronics courses are yet another way that Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College is meeting the needs of the industrial community and students in the region. The Manufacturing program partnered with industry to create model electronics and test curriculum that directly translates to skills needed in the workforce. Hybrid classes were selected to give access to all types of students with a great blend of self-paced online classes and in-person hands-on classes.
The courses train students on the basic theories of electronics, and provide the opportunity for participants to advance and become highly skilled for the workforce in their desired path.
Class schedule:
Electronics and Test Technology I (ECT-120)
Start Date: May 13, 6-week course, online and in-person on Saturdays
Time: 7:00am – 2:15pm, with 30-minute break for lunch
