Photography captures the essence of our community through dynamic images. We focus on highlighting the students, campuses, and communities that define AWC, providing authentic, high-quality visuals from events, studio sessions, and campus life.
Accessing and Requesting Photography
Official AWC photography including campus & event photos, photo requests, and studio shots are available to the public in our online management system. All photos are available for free download. You can view or search our photo gallery.

- Please note, to maintain quality standards and ensure a fresh selection, photos are routinely archived and will not be made available upon request.
- Need a refresh? Photography can be requested through our Marketing Request form.
Photography Style
Our photo style creates signature visuals using natural light, creative angles, and accurate representations of real experiences.
- Subject
- We aim for credible and authentic photos that capture genuine personalities and individuals engaged in the moment.
- Lighting
- You will notice an emphasis on natural light, simulated natural light, and sun-drenched settings. We are the sunniest city on earth, after all!
- Editing
- We also take care to capture authenticity by limiting editing to what is honest and accurate, avoiding heavy saturation and excessive beauty touch ups.
Crediting Photography
Please adhere to the following guidelines when accessing and using photography:
- AWC photography provided to an outside publication
When providing photography to an outside publication, AWC Photography should be credited as: Photo courtesy of Arizona Western College. - Approved outside photography used by the institution
Once you receive permission to use a photo, you may be asked to add a credit. Photo credits should include the photographer’s name and/or organizational affiliation.
Ex: Photo courtesy of Organization Name OR Photo courtesy of Photographer Name, Organization
Releases
Signed media releases are required depending on the context of the photoshoot and the subject/s involved.
- Public Spaces
- Current AWC students complete a photo release in the student application, allowing the college to use images of students obtained in public spaces. While model releases serve as a backup, they are not required in these contexts.
- Marketing Campaigns
- All individuals participating in a coordinated marketing campaign or project as on-camera talent will sign and submit a release form. Release forms can be obtained from Marketing and Communications.
- Minors
- Individuals under 18 will require a legal parent or guardian's signature. The Child Development Learning Lab located on the Yuma Campus requires all parents to sign releases.
