What You'll Learn
Upon completion of the class students will be able to:

Understand the roles, responsibilities, and legal limitations of security guards, including the differences and expectations of armed and unarmed positions under Arizona law.

Apply knowledge of relevant Arizona Revised Statutes, including use of force, arrest authority, and firearms-related laws.

Demonstrate firearm safety, handling, and operation, including proper loading, unloading, aiming, and trigger control for both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.

Achieve firearms qualification standards, meeting or exceeding required proficiency scores through live-fire exercises.

Maintain professional appearance and comply with uniform regulations, ensuring clear identification and representation of the security role.

Communicate effectively in a security setting, including verbal de-escalation, radio communication, incident reporting, and proper written documentation.

Use appropriate levels of force based on situational assessment, demonstrating sound judgment, escalation and de-escalation strategies, and understanding the psychological impacts of force encounters.

Respond to emergencies and incidents, including providing first response, protecting crime scenes, and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency personnel.

Perform routine firearm maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions, ensuring safe and reliable use of assigned weapons.

Exhibit ethical behavior and professional conduct, maintaining integrity, discretion, and adherence to all applicable legal and organizational standards.

Identify and prevent sexual harassment, demonstrating awareness of appropriate workplace behavior and boundaries.

Registration Hours: Mon - Thurs 8AM - 5PM, Fri 8AM - 4PM payments accepted via phone, or walk-in. Please make checks payable to AWC. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards accepted.
Refund/Cancellation Policy: A 100% refund will be granted if a request is made 2 business days prior to the start of class. A 50% refund will be issued if notice is received less than 2 business days prior to class. No refunds will be issued after the first day of class.
