AWC Foundation presents the third-annual Schoolhouse Soirée

September 25, 2024

Event will celebrate Hall of Fame inductees

Yuma, AZ (September 25, 2024) – Join the Arizona Western College Foundation for an evening of celebration at the third-annual Schoolhouse Soirée on Friday, October 4.

The annual fundraising event will honor 2024 AWC Hall of Fame inductees Roberta “Bobbi” McDermott and Dennis Booth for their significant contribution to AWC and the Yuma and La Paz communities. Scholarship recipients will also be recognized, as well as the donors who made those scholarships possible.

Prior to the event, guests are invited to enjoy a delightful grazing table, hosted bar, and silent auction. Yearbooks from the 1960s and 1970s will be displayed for guests to peruse, offering a nostalgic journey through time.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to pay tribute to the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future,” said AWC Foundation Development Manager Gladys Anaya. “We are profoundly grateful to our sponsors for their crucial support in bringing this event to life.”

The Schoolhouse Soirée will take place on Friday, October 4, from 6-10 p.m. in the AWC Schoening Conference Center at 2020 S. Avenue 8E, Yuma, AZ.

Event tickets are $100 and will be available until Sunday, September 29. To procure a ticket or become a sponsor, follow this link. The presenting sponsor for the event is EcoEnergy Solutions.

After raising over $114,000 at last year’s Soirée, the Foundation’s fundraising goal for the October 4th event is $150,000. In line with the mission of the Foundation, all proceeds will support AWC Foundation scholarships and programs.
