AWC Enrollment Tour prepares high school seniors for transition to college

April 10, 2024

Events to be held on campuses throughout Yuma and La Paz counties

Yuma, AZ (April 10, 2024) – Arizona Western College is expanding its horizons and eliminating barriers to obtain a college degree by meeting students where they are and bringing resources and services to area high schools through the AWC Enrollment Tour.

During a series of events, high school seniors from Yuma and La Paz counties will have an opportunity to join a New Student Orientation to Advisement and Registration session and learn about what resources and programs are offered at AWC. Financial Aid representatives will also be on site to answer questions about FAFSA.

Participating high schools include Yuma, Salome, Gila Ridge, Vista, San Luis, Kofa, Student Choice, Cibola, and Parker. San Pasqual and Antelope high school students will also participate in an event that will be held on the AWC Yuma Campus.

“Transition to college is underway! The AWC Enrollment Tour is providing essential support for high school seniors to embark on their college journey,” said Biridiana Martinez, AWC Director of Outreach, Recruitment and Early College Program.

“AWC is the only college in Arizona with all three public universities on campus. Begin your college journey at AWC and take advantage of the opportunity to smoothly transition to any of our local state university partners. Whether you decide to continue your studies in Yuma or explore educational pursuits elsewhere, we are here to guide you through the enrollment process for your first college experience at Arizona Western College.”
