Public Invited to Practice Sign Language at the Library
October 30, 2017Yuma, AZ (October 30, 2017) – Arizona Western College’s American Sign Language Deaf and Deaf Allies (ASL DADA) Club is inviting the community to come out and practice their sign language skills.
The club will be hosting ASL Coffee Chats at the Yuma Main Library, 2951 S. 21st Drive, every other week beginning Friday, Nov. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. The meetings are open to the public.
“Our ASL coffee chats are not only a way for students to practice a skill they do not get to use nearly enough, but we also give a place for Yuma’s deaf community to feel welcome,” said Grace Armijo, ASL DADA President.
“We are very inclusive and make sure everyone is understood. No matter where you are in your sign language journey you are welcome and are guaranteed to learn something.”
