EMS 152 (Basic Emergency Medical Technician) is a prerequisite for the Paramedic programs.
- Students must submit an EMT application and be accepted into the EMS-152 course by the Director of EMS and the Medical Director of EMS.
- Meet the requirements of the Arizona State Department of Human Services.
- T.B. clearance card within 90 days prior to attending class.
- 255 or higher reading score.
- Must have a current AHA BLS provider card (Search for "CPR").
- Must 18 years of age prior to the completion of the program.
- The person shall be a United States citizen or a legal resident.
- The person shall be a high school graduate or have successfully completed a General Education Development (G.E.D.) examination.
- The student shall not have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, or any offense that would be a felony if committed in Arizona.
- The student shall not have been dishonorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces.
- The student shall not have been previously denied certified status, revoked or have his/her current certified status under suspension pursuant to ADHS/BEMS R-9-25-402.
