Art - Graphics
A.A. - Transfer Degree
Students in this major receive a foundation in art and technology; with the assistance of their Academic Advisors, students then select courses according to the major they wish to pursue at the university.
Program Purpose
Graduates will demonstrate (1) knowledge that will prepare them for transfer to university graphics programs and (2) critical thinking skills in AWC’s General Education focus areas relevant to graphic design.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify stylistic characteristics of cultural/historical periods studied.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between purpose and form in art and architecture.
- Analyze the relationship between 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional form and space.
- Demonstrate foundational technique methods.
- Demonstrate use of the elements and principles of design.
- Demonstrate technical/conceptual skills at an appropriate level.
