AWC/NAU Science Club to Host Blood Drive
The AWC/NAU Science Club will be hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, November 15th and Wednesday, November 16th on the AWC Yuma Campus in the 3C Schoening Conference Center from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

The Arizona Western College Foundation would like to invite the community to their Schoolhouse Soiree on Saturday, November 5 from 6pm-9pm at the Gowan Company Patio (370 S Main St in Yuma). This will be an unforgettable evening in support of AWC Foundation programs and scholarships.
There will be live entertainment featuring the AWC Jazz Ensemble and Kolt Supa, award- winning concert pianist. There will also be a catered dinner and a cash bar.
Arizona Western College’s welding courses for the fall semester are 100% enrolled. This fall, AWC has offered many types of welding, metal sculpture, metal smithing and blacksmithing courses. There will be a full assortment of courses available next spring. Registration begins Monday, November 14 for the Spring 2017 semester.
The Arizona Western College Majors Fair will be on Wednesday, November 2nd from 9am to 1pm in the Schoening Conference Center (3C) on the Yuma Campus. This is an informational event to inform AWC students and high school seniors about the more than 60 academic disciplines available at AWC and encourage them to begin the process of selecting a major.
Yuma Fresh Vegetable Association (YFVA) presented a $10,000 check to the Arizona Western College Foundation to fund the Jacob Louis Daily Memorial Scholarship.
The Arizona Western College Community Band will be having their Fall Concert on Monday, October 24. The concert will take place at Mary Elizabeth Post Auditorium at 7:00pm. Donations will be accepted.

Project Will Help Students Attain STEM Degrees in Informatics
Arizona’s Senator McCain and Congressman Gosar’s offices contacted Arizona Western College on September 27, 2016 to notify that the Informatics-STEMing Into New Careers for Today and Tomorrow (INSTINCT2) proposal had been funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education, Hispanic Serving Institutions Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (HIS-STEM) and Articulation Program.
Arizona Western College received an Exemplary Practices Award from the Community College Business Officers (CCBO) at their 2016 annual conference in Orlando, Florida for the Chiller Optimization Project. Steve Eckert, AWC Director of Facilities Management, accepted the award on behalf of AWC and also gave an hour long presentation on the project at the conference.
