AWC extends invitation to National Transfer Student Week events


Yuma, AZ (October 5, 2022) – In support of Arizona Western College’s efforts to double the rate of earned baccalaureate degrees in the district by 2035, the college will be hosting several events and activities as part of National Transfer Student Week from Oct. 17-21.

AWC Transfer Services will be providing virtual and in-person opportunities to assist students on their path to a university. Events are available for transfer students at AWC or current students considering attaining a bachelor’s degree.

AWC students to hold "Third Multilingual Expo" at San Luis Learning Center


San Luis, AZ (October 3, 2022) – First-Year English Composition students from the Arizona Western College San Luis Learning Center (SLLC) are inviting the community to join them for the Third Multilingual Student Expo, “Cherishing Unity in Diversity,” on Wednesday, Oct. 12. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, ENG107 and ENG108 multilingual students will discuss how to cultivate a sense of togetherness coming from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

KEYS students participate in Global Virtual Internship


Program includes Cultural Clarity Experience trip to Puerto Rico

Yuma, AZ (September 13, 2022) – This summer, seven students from the Arizona Western College KEYS Program had the opportunity to participate in Zion Leadership Group’s Global Virtual Internship, which culminated with a Cultural Clarity Experience trip to Puerto Rico.

CAMP student hopes to inspire more women to consider careers in STEM fields

Yuma, AZ (September 8, 2022) – Alexandra Lynnette Soto-Lopez, 20, aspires to one day work on the development of spacecraft and aircraft as an aerospace engineer.

Thanks to a recent scholarship, she’s one step closer to making that dream a reality.
