Arizona Western College, in partnership with Pipeline AZ, is pleased to announce the launch of the Bridge program. The program will seek to prepare high school students in Yuma County for a seamless and successful transition to college and the workforce.
AWC President Dr. Daniel Corr recently represented Arizona Western College and the Yuma community at the 2025 Hoover Institution Education Summit. The event addressed the needs of public K-12 education in the US, featuring keynote speakers Dr. Condoleezza Rice and Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar in addition to other prominent scholars and educators.
The 2025 AWC Foundation scholarship cycle will run from February 15-April 1. With numerous scholarships available, current and incoming students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Tickets are on sale now for the TEDxAWC conference, which will take place on April 25th at the Historic Yuma Theatre. Ten speakers have been selected to share their stories of transformation and resilience.
On January 21, Arizona Western College Allied Health programs will receive a $50,000 grant, thanks to a generous contribution from the Arizona Complete Health Community Reinvestment Program. By benefiting these programs and their students, this funding will significantly impact AWC’s efforts to meet the state’s need for healthcare workers.
Olivia Zepeda has been re-elected to serve another six-year term on the AWC Board of Directors. Having spent roughly 40 years in the field of education, Zepeda will represent District 4, which includes South and West Yuma County, Somerton, and San Luis, AZ.
On January 23rd, Arizona Western College invites the public to hear a powerful story of hope and resilience as Esther Basch, a 96 ½-year-old Holocaust survivor known as "The Honey Girl of Auschwitz," shares her journey of survival and triumph. Presentations on January 24th will be also available to YUHSD and YESD#1 students, hosted by Gila Ridge Performing Arts.
The Arizona Western College Men’s Basketball team is hosting the 2025 Chapman Automotive Winter Basketball Camp on January 2-3, 2025. The camp is for K-12 boys and girls who are interested in learning basketball fundamentals.
