Financial support available for students through AWC Foundation
January 28, 2025Scholarship cycle open Feb. 15 – Apr. 1
Yuma, AZ (January 28, 2025) – Current and incoming students in need of financial support are encouraged to apply for the numerous scholarships available through the Arizona Western College Foundation. The Foundation will begin taking applications on February 15.
“Like the diverse student body at AWC, we have a diverse offering of scholarship opportunities. We encourage everyone to apply for scholarships through our user-friendly scholarship portal,” said Laura Knaresboro, AWC Foundation Chief Operating Officer.
Scholarships are available for students of all majors, backgrounds, and grade point averages. Students need only to complete one general application to qualify for any applicable scholarships. For scholarships that require a written essay, the AWC Student Success Center offers free writing help to support students on their journey to success. Additionally, a link to AWC Professor Ellen Riek's essay-writing tips is available on the AWC Foundation Scholarship page under "Frequently Asked Questions."
“There is often a misconception about GPA and financial aid status when it comes to applying for scholarships, but each award has different criteria. Spending 30-40 minutes of your time could unlock various scholarship opportunities. Go for it!” said Gladys Anaya, AWC Foundation Development Manager.
The AWC Foundation scholarship cycle will run from Saturday, February 15 to Tuesday, April 1 with awards announced by the end of May.
For information on how to apply, follow this link or contact the AWC Foundation at foundation@azwestern.edu or (928) 344-1720.
