Wellton Manufacturing Training Center offers new electrical trailer for on-site trainings
April 16, 2024Yuma, AZ (April 16, 2024) –Arizona Western College’s Wellton Manufacturing Training Center is working to meet industry and community needs by providing a new electrical trailer that can be utilized at corporate trainings.
“The electrical trailer represents the commitment by Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College to promote growth and strong partnerships within our regional industrial community. When companies invest in their employees by providing valuable training, our entire community benefits from the enhanced skills of our workforce. Collaboration at this level is the benchmark for preparing students and workers with skills that they’ll need for success,” said Jim Larson, AWC Director of Manufacturing.
The trailer is being used for the first time as part of a Basic Electricity (ECT-105) class at Gowan Milling that runs until May 19. The course is an introduction to basic electrical principles, circuits, and measurements.
“This initiative has been years in the making, and we're thrilled about the opportunity it offers our employees to enhance their skills through an electrical course. For those interested, this lays the groundwork for building on additional courses in the future to obtain a certificate,” said Cori Rico, Gowan Company Organizational Specialist.
Rico added that the convenience of having the course available on-site through the mobile trailer is truly invaluable. A total of 13 Gowan employees are currently enrolled in the class.
