New finance certification courses offered this April

Yuma, Ariz. (April 7, 2025) – Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College is launching a new industry certification from the Institute of Management Accountants in Financial Managerial Accounting, scheduled to begin later this month.
Designed for individuals seeking careers in accounting, finance, and business management, the Financial Managerial Accounting Associate (FMAA) Certification provides training in financial reporting and cost management. Students will gain skills in analyzing financial data, budgeting, and applying cost accounting techniques.
“I am excited that AWC is able to offer the Financial Managerial Accounting Associate Certification from the Institute of Managerial Accountants,” said AWC Accounting Professor Dr. Kristine Duke, who will be teaching the course. “This organization is one of the largest professional accounting associations in the world. This certification is a wonderful addition to anyone beginning their accounting career.”
The FMAA certification can be applied to various careers including entry-level accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, and other finance professions, while serving as a steppingstone into higher-level credentials like the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Additionally, the financial literacy skills gained in the course can benefit individuals outside of the finance profession, including entrepreneurs and corporate professionals.
The course will run from April 28 to July 28, with classes every Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Classes will be held at the AWC Reskilling and Technology Center at 1351 S Redondo Center Dr.
Registration is open until the first day of class, as long as there is space available. Total cost for the course is $850.
