Marketing and Communications team receives 13 Medallion awards from NCMPR
November 28, 2023Yuma, AZ (November 28, 2023) – The Marketing and Communications Department at Arizona Western College recently brought home regional marketing awards for their innovative efforts to promote higher education in Yuma and La Paz counties.
The team was honored with 13 Medallion awards during the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 6 Conference in Palm Springs, Calif. The event recognized outstanding achievement in communications by marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges in District 6, which includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands and Territory of Guam.
AWC Marketing and Communications received the most awards for District 6, earning recognition for work on the institution’s rebrand, NJCAA Softball Tournament, and more. Graphic Designer Gabriela Reyna was named the 2023 Rising Star for District 6, and Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director for the AWC Foundation Lori Stofft was the opening keynote speaker for the event. Strategic Content/Social Media Specialist Sarah Herman also gave a presentation during the conference titled, “Make LinkedIn Work for You,” about harnessing the power of LinkedIn as higher education and community advocates.
“I’m incredibly proud and honored to work with such an amazing team,” said Associate Dean of Marketing and Communications Mandy Heil, who is also the NCMPR District 6 Director. “Earning thirteen Medallion awards, including a gold Medallion for our new logo, is an extraordinary achievement, and it’s indicative of a talented group of people who are creative, inventive, and hardworking.”
