March 6, 2025Proceeds to benefit AWC Visual and Performing Arts scholarships
Yuma, Ariz. (March 6, 2025) – On March 15, the Arizona Western College Visual and Performing Arts Department is hosting a Festival Fundraiser to support student scholarships. The event will showcase live music and theater performances, with student artwork for sale including drawings, ceramics, stickers, printed T-shirts, and more.
“The scholarship funds help students who are struggling to pay for supplies and materials for classes as well as personal needs such as food insecurity,” commented Fine Arts Professor Rebecca Shelby. “The event is festival style, where there are several different performances and works for sale by the students who have donated them.”
In addition to student work, Larry Yanez, a renowned Chicano Movement print and ceramic artist from Yuma, has generously donated several pieces that will also be for sale at the event.
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 15 from 2-4 p.m. A campus map can be found here.
Open to the public, the cost to attend is $15 per person or $25 per couple (cash/card accepted). Proceeds will benefit scholarships for Visual and Performing Arts students at AWC.
