One Book Yuma

Author to visit AWC for book discussion event

February 1, 2023

Yuma, AZ (February 1, 2023) – The community is invited to join One Book Yuma author Reyna Grande for a discussion on her memoir, “A Dream Called Home.”

The story is an inspiring account of one woman’s quest to find her place in America, determined to build a new life for her family.

“This book is about a first-generation Latina university student who learns to find her way through life using education to fulfill her dream of becoming a writer. I believe many of our students will be able to relate to this beautiful story,” said Aimee Quinn, Arizona Western College/Northern Arizona University-Yuma librarian.

National bestselling author Reyna Grande will visit Yuma on Wednesday, March 1, to lead two community discussions:
•    1:00-2:00 pm, Academic Library (LR Building), Arizona Western College, 2020 S. Avenue 8E (Photos from this event can be found here.)
•    6:30-7:30 pm, Yuma Main Library, 1st Floor Meeting Rooms, 2951 S. 21st Drive

The community discussions will be followed by Q&A sessions and book signings. Both events are free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at each event. In addition, print and electronic copies are currently available on loan at the Yuma County Library and the AWC/NAU-Yuma Academic Library.

One Book Yuma is an annual reading and discussion event aimed at engaging the community in dialogue about pertinent, topical, and timely issues important to our region and the world beyond. The event is hosted by the AWC/NAU-Yuma Academic Library, Yuma County Library District, and Friends of Yuma County Libraries, Inc.
