AWC choral concert to celebrate jazz, gospel, and spirituals
February 28, 2025Yuma, Ariz. (February 28, 2025) – The Arizona Western College Choirs are excited to present their annual concert, “Singing with the Masters,” on March 7th and 9th.
Featuring the AWC Chamber Singers, Yuma Choral, and soloists, this year's concert will feature selections from jazz standards, traditional spirituals and inspiring gospel genres.
“Some of the composers that the choirs will highlight are George and Ira Gershwin, Bob Chilcott, John William Work III, William Dawson, Robert Ray and Richard Smallwood," said Deltrina D. Grimes, AWC Professor of Choral and Vocal Music. “We welcome guest conductor Dr. Charles Smalley and soloist Cecelia Braithwaite.”

Trinity United Methodist Church
3030 South 8th Ave, Yuma, AZ
Both performances are free and open to the public, although donations to benefit AWC Music Department scholarships are greatly appreciated.
