AWC Make-Up Exam and Exam Accommodations

AWC Make-Up Exams
Testing Services administers examinations for AWC academic make-up exams and students with exam accommodations. Instructors must complete the Submission Builder form. If instructors have question they can contact the Yuma Campus Testing Center. Academic make-up exams must be submitted by the instructor at least 3 business days prior to the start date of the exam. Please note, students can't schedule themselves until the Submission Builder is submitted and approved. AWC students must schedule their exam at least 24 hours in advance by completing the Exam Registration form.

AWC Exam Accommodations
If you require exam accommodations, you will need to contact AWC Accessibility Services.  All students with exam accommodations must contact the testing center by phone at 928-344-7641 or by email at testing@azwestern.edu. If a seat is available accommodated students will then need to schedule their exam at least 24 hours in advance by completing the Exam Registration form. The Testing Center does not guarantee accommodations for students without an appointment.  Please note, seating is limited.

Guided Course Placement is to assist you in choosing the appropriate course(s) at Arizona Western College. This process will include multiple-choice questions to help you choose course(s) in English and Math. The course(s) represented upon completion are only suggestions.

The ESL Guided Course Placement is a way to measure your English skills so you can choose the appropriate course(s) at Arizona Western College. This process is offered in English or Spanish and includes multiple choice questions to help you choose the right ESL course(s). The course(s) represented upon completion are only suggestions.

All new students need to attend an orientation session where advisors will assist students with the advising and registration processes. Continuing and returning students may set-up an appointment with an advisor

The General Education Development (GED) test series is available to all persons who want to earn their high school equivalency diploma. The GED exams are available in multiple languages however, the Civics exam is only offered in English. Eligibility for underage examinee;

  • Must be 16 year of age
  • Must provide the following documentation;
    • Verification from the last school attended, certifying formal withdrawal from high school, and is not in an elementary charter or home school.
    • A signed, notarized, and dated statement of consent from a parent or guardian.
    • Government Issued Picture ID that includes date of birth, legal name, current photo and a signature.
    • All documentation must be delivered in person. The minor must be present with legal ID.

Automotive Service Excellence - (ASE)

Complete the three-part process for the ASE exam:
Step 1: Register, sign-up and pay for the ASE exam. The name you register with must match the name listed on your valid government issued photo identification.
Step 2: Go to the Arizona Western College website to schedule your Prometric: ASE exam at the AWC-Yuma Campus.
Step 3: On test day:
(a.) Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled exam time.
(b.) Bring a valid, unexpired photo identification that is government issued.  If you do not have the correct photo identification on your test day, you will not be allowed to test. 

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Complete the four-part process for the CLEP exam:
Step 1: Register and pay for the CLEP exam. If you are transferring the CLEP Spanish exam credit to Arizona Western College the only CLEP credit allowed is Spanish with Writing. AWC students will need to check the CLEP Course Exam Equivalent Guide and consult with your advisor before testing. The Arizona Western College CLEP site code is: 4013. When registering for your CLEP exam provide all requested information to include your legal name listed on your government issued photo identification. Your online CLEP registration is valid for 6 months.
Step 2: Go to the Arizona Western College website to schedule the CLEP exam at the AWC-Yuma Campus. You will need to pay a proctoring fee of $30.00.  The $30.00 proctoring fee is non-refundable. You may reschedule a minimum of 24 hours PRIOR to your scheduled test date. 
Step 3: On test day:
(a.) Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled exam time.
(b.) Print out and bring your CLEP Exam Registration Ticket. The name listed on the CLEP Exam Registration Ticket must match the name listed on the valid government issued photo identification.
(c.) Bring a valid, unexpired photo identification that is government issued. It is recommended you review the Exam Day Information from the CLEP website. The CLEP site has important information regarding the CLEP program, exam preparation materials and test day requirements and expectations. If you do not have the CLEP Exam Registration Ticket and the correct photo identification on your test day, you will not be allowed to test. 
(4) If you are sending your CLEP scores to AWC you must submit a "Credit Evaluation Form" through Transfer Services

DSST Exams

Military Sponsored Exams: Active duty military and others may be eligible for financial support for DSST exams through the DANTES program, which provides no-cost education and career-planning programs for the United States Armed Forces. For more information visit the DANTES website prior to registering for a DSST exam.
If you or your dependents qualify for DANTES or other military funding you will need to meet the identification requirements when testing at AWC. For more information contact the Yuma Campus Testing Services Center at (928) 344-7641.

Pearson VUE

Complete the seven-part process for your Pearson VUE exam:
Step 1: Search the A to Z list to find your exam program's homepage.
(a.) See which exams are available.
Step 2: Login to or create an account.
Step 3: Search for Arizona Western College-Yuma Campus testing center.
Step 4: Find your program-specific rules, customer service and FAQs.
Step 5: Schedule, reschedule or cancel appointments.
Step 6: Explore exam prep materials.
Step 7: Read your confirmation email and follow your test day requirements.
(a.) Arrive at least 30 minutes early on your test day. 
(b.) Bring at least one valid government issued identification with a current photo and signature.  If your exam requires more than one form of identification follow your exam vendors guidelines on test dayIf you do not have the correct identification on your test day, you will not be allowed to test.
