Event Details
The AWC Early College Admission Day is scheduled for August 7, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the AWC Yuma Campus AC building. During this event, you can complete the AWC admission process and learn about dual and concurrent enrollment classes. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to earn college credit while still in high school or middle school. Students in K-12 schools can take advantage of a reduced tuition rate of only $25 per credit.

Dual enrollment classes are available at several high schools, including Kofa, Cibola, Yuma, Gila Ridge, Vista, San Luis, Somerton, Antelope Union, Yuma Catholic, Harvest, and Parker. These classes cover various academic and career & technical education areas of study. They’re taught by certified high school teachers during the regular high school day, right on the high school campus. If you you’re already enrolled in an AWC class at your high school during the event, we can assist you with your AWC admission application. Remember that additional forms and steps are necessary to apply the course to your high school credits.
For those ready to tackle college-level courses, concurrent enrollment courses are available. These allow you to get ahead in your college credits. Arizona Western College has even graduated over 120+ Early College students with an Associate of Arts degree just before their high school graduation in the last two years. If you plan to use an AWC class to fulfill a high school requirement, start the conversation with your high school counselor. Keep in mind that only select classes can be applied toward high school requirements, as determined by your school and district. Again, additional forms and steps are needed to apply the course to your high school credits.
