Field of Interest
Provides students with the fundamentals of building IT infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Optimizing the use of AWS Cloud through the development of an understanding of AWS services, best practices, and how they fit into cloud-based solutions.
Type
Students who successfully complete the course requirements will earn Amazon Web Services Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification, as well as college credit from Arizona Western College.
What You'll Learn
Upon completion of the class students will be able to:
- Describe the economic advantages of cloud computing.
- Execute services using AWS Elastic Compute (EC2).
- Select services using the AWS Management Console.
- Choose among AWS storage options to meet performance requirements.
- Create Virtual Private Clouds on AWS.
- Investigate AWS database options.
- Use Elastic Load Balancing (EBL) to scale services.
- Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) to limit access and maintain security.
- Formulate decisions based on recommended architectural principles and best practices.
- Evaluate AWS compute and networking options.
- Examine alternative support options and features.

Registration Process: Because students earn college credit from Arizona Western College, application and admission to AWC is required. Interested students will meet with an AZ Quest Grant Coordinator to determine eligibility for the program.
