AWC Civic Orchestra celebrating 43rd season of Classics by Moonlight


Yuma, AZ (October 16, 2018) – Join the Arizona Western College Civic Orchestra for Classics by Moonlight on Saturday, October 20.

As part of their 43rd season, the full Civic Orchestra along with the String Ambassadors, Young String Ambassadors, and Twinklers will be presenting music including legends, dragons, pirates, firebirds, zombies and more for the whole family to enjoy.

AWC Community Band presents Fall Concert


Yuma, AZ (October 16, 2018) - The Arizona Western College Community Band will be having its Fall Concert on Monday, October 22.

The soundtrack-themed performance featuring music from movies like, “The Incredibles,” and “Jurassic Park,” will take place at 7 p.m. at Mary Elizabeth Post Auditorium, 400 W. 5th St. 

The concert is free and open to the public of all ages. Donations will be accepted.

AWC Theater presents murder mystery


Yuma, AZ (October 11, 2018) – The community is invited to come out and attend the Arizona Western College Theater performance of “Trifles,” a masterful blend of murder mystery and social commentary.

Farmer John Wright has been murdered, but the men investigating can't find any clues. John's wife, Minnie, is suspected of the murder.

Written in 1916 before women could vote or serve on juries, this one-act play is considered an early feminist masterpiece.

OctSOBER Fest to promote alcohol awareness


Yuma, AZ (October 10, 2018) – Who says you can't have fun while learning about the responsibilities that go along with alcohol consumption?

Arizona Western College will be holding their annual OctSOBER Fest on Thursday, Oct. 18, to help educate students and the college community about the effects of alcohol use.

They’ll be doing so using activities like root beer pong, the intoxiclock (to see how alcohol affects the human body), drunk goggle demonstrations, and more. There will also be free mocktails.

AWC La Paz to host Start Up Saturday for future students


Parker, AZ (October 4, 2018) – Let Arizona Western College help you explore, discover, and achieve your academic goals.

AWC La Paz campuses are gearing up for a one-day event that will assist future students through the enrollment process. AWC staff will be available to guide attendees each step of the way – through admissions, Accuplacer placement testing, registration, financial aid and advising.

Start Up Saturday will be held Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the AWC Parker Learning Center, 1109 Geronimo Ave.

Transfer & Career Expo to highlight Business, Education, Public Safety, & Health


Yuma, AZ (October 2, 2018) – Arizona Western College will be holding a Transfer & Career Expo on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. in room 104 of the San Luis Learning Center, 1340 N. 8th Ave. The expo will specifically focus on Business, Education, Public Safety, and Health opportunities for current and prospective students.

KOFA Border Radio holding inaugural pledge drive


Yuma, AZ (October 1, 2018) – The first-ever pledge drive for KOFA Border Radio will be taking place Wednesday, October 3, until Saturday, October 6, at 11 a.m.

Arizona Western College President Dr. Daniel Corr will kick off the drive as the first guest DJ at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

After being known for 48 years as KAWC AM1320, the station transitioned to KOFA 1320 Border Radio on April 30. Colorado River Public Media’s new all-music service features significantly more local music and student-hosted programming.
