Band, choir student shares on disappointments and resilience during pandemic
Yuma, AZ (March 22, 2021) – For the past three years, Vanessa Ramirez has been diligently working to improve as both a flutist and a singer.
Ramirez has participated as a student in the Arizona Western College Community Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Band and also takes private voice lessons and sings second soprano and alto with the AWC Chamber Singers and Yuma Chorale.

Yuma, AZ (March 15, 2021) – College students who were not previously eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) may now qualify thanks to additional flexibilities put in place by a new COVID relief bill.
The Emergency Coronavirus Relief Act (HR 133) made it possible for approximately six million additional college students to use SNAP (formerly known as food stamps), to purchase groceries and have a nutritious diet.
