AWC to offer Amazon Web Services certifications


Staff members receive training to teach cloud computing courses

Yuma, AZ (November 20, 2020) – As more organizations shift to utilizing online cloud technologies, employees with the necessary cloud computing skills to manage those services are in high demand. It’s for this reason that Arizona Western College will begin offering Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications beginning Spring 2021.

College delays next Rad Tech program class to 2022


Yuma, AZ (Oct 8, 2020) – Typically at this time of year, the college Radiologic Technology program would be recruiting a new class to apply this coming January, to start in June 2021. Due to the college’s response to COVID-19, the college is unable to open applications for the next class of Radiologic Technology students until January of 2022, to begin in the summer of 2022.

Yuma, AZ (August 27, 2020) – The Arizona Western College community is saddened by the loss of former AWC President Dr.James “Jim” Carruthers. He passed away on July 22, at the age of 79.

AWC confirms fourth staff case of COVID-19, temporarily shutters Yuma County campus locations


Yuma, AZ (May 28, 2020) – A fourth member of the college’s essential team tested positive for COVID-19 this week causing the college to temporarily send all essential employees home for 10 days, to return on Monday, June 8. Remote work by college employees will continue.

The ill employee is hospitalized in stable condition. This past Tuesday the college announced 3 positive cases from the same essential employee team. All three are resting at home, recuperating, and their teammates send best wishes to the four employees and their families.
