Eighth-grade students to go trick-or-treating at AWC


Yuma, AZ (October 24, 2019) – Arizona Western College Talent Search is holding a Trick or Treat event for eighth-grade students in the program to help them learn about the different departments on campus.

Students will have an opportunity to tour various areas of the college, trick-or-treating in costume along the way. The group will learn about where services and offices are located, as well as the function of each department.

Staff to get “taste” of Strategic Planning progress


Yuma, AZ (October 17, 2019) – Arizona Western College faculty and staff will have an opportunity to explore the nine Strategic Planning objectives at the heart of an Amazing Student Experience, while also enjoying a delicious treat along the way.

The Taste of the Future event will be held for the campus community on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 3 to 4:15 p.m., in the South Wing of the Schoening Conference Center at the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.

AWC Alumni Invited for Celebration Breakfast


Dr. Don Schoening, Dan Beaver, and Arnold Trujillo to be honored as 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees

Yuma, AZ (October 16, 2019) –  Arizona Western College is inviting alumni and community partners to the annual AWC Alumni Breakfast and Hall of Fame Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 8 to 10 a.m. in the North Wing of the Schoening Conference Center, 2020 S. Ave. 8E. AWC’s 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees Dr. Don Schoening, Dan Beaver, and Arnold Trujillo will be honored at the breakfast.

Cesar Chavez’s grandson to present “Hailing Cesar” documentary at AWC


Yuma, AZ (October 14, 2019) – Eduardo Chavez, the grandson of civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, will be visiting Arizona Western College for a screening of his documentary, “Hailing Cesar.” He will also be speaking to attendees about the film.

The screening and presentation will take place at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Schoening Conference Center at the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave 8E. Students and the general public are invited to attend.
