Admissions and Additional Details

Tips and information to prepare for this workshop:

  • Students and parents have their FSA ID and password created and ready: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
    • Account recovery and account creation takes time. Students and parents should already have their FSA ID and passwords available and ready to enter. The FAFSA application can then be finished during the workshop.
  • 2023 taxes completed. Students and parents will need to “consent” for the data retrieval tool to access their tax information from the IRS but parents without SS# sometimes will need to manually input in their information. Having a copy of their 2023 tax information would be helpful just in case.
    • 2022 or 2024 tax information could also be helpful to bring if they have it in case an appeal can be suggested under our review.
  • Social Security card for student and parent
    • The system may not recognize their FSA ID information, but we can verify that it is correct by viewing their social security card.
    • Starting December 2023, parents or spouses are eligible to create a StudentAid.gov account without having an SSN to access their portion of your FAFSA form.
  • If applicable, a student or parent’s Alien Registration number.
