Watson Child Development Learning Lab located in Yuma at Arizona Western College has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)—the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children.

CampusWorks Donates $25,000 to Help Arizona Western College Students Complete Degrees Debt-Free


Bradenton, FL (November 15, 2019) – CampusWorks, a strategic higher education consulting firm, has donated $25,000 to Yuma Promise—Arizona Western College’s tuition reimbursement program that promises to fully reimburse students’ out-of-pocket tuition and fees when they complete an associate degree in five semesters or less and enroll in a baccalaureate program at one of three partner institutions.

AWC music students to hold formal recital


Yuma, AZ (November 15, 2019) – Join the Arizona Western College Music Department for its Formal Student Recital on Sunday, Nov. 24.

Performances will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church, 11273 E. 40th St. The event is free and open to the general public.

AWC music majors will demonstrate their progress from their fall semester private lessons. The recital will feature a variety of instrumental, ensemble, and vocal solo performances.

Annual Christmas Gala set for Nov. 21


Yuma, AZ (November 14, 2019) – The Arizona Western College choirs, orchestra, Community Band, and piano faculty will be performing during their annual Christmas Gala on Thursday, Nov. 21.

“The audience can expect to hear arrangements of familiar Christmas classics, as well as more unfamiliar or exotic selections from the various ensembles,” said Shawn Pollard, AWC Professor of Instrumental Music.

Pollard added that the community is in for an enjoyable performance, as students will be performing a culmination of music they’ve been working on all semester.

Jazz Ensemble presents Fall Concert for community


Yuma, AZ (November 13, 2019) – The Arizona Western College Jazz Ensemble is presenting an evening of jazz music for all ages to enjoy during their upcoming Fall Concert.

The performance will start at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the AWC Theatre, 2020 S. Ave. 8E. 

The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.

AWC to celebrate Native American culture


Yuma, AZ (November 13, 2019) – The Arizona Western College Indigenous Student Association Club and Student Government Association invite the community to stop by and learn more about Native American heritage and culture.

AWC will be holding Native American Heritage Days events in conjunction with National Native American Heritage Month from 12 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and on Thursday, Nov. 21, in the 3C Breezeway of the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.

Join the Research Party at the Academic Library


Yuma, AZ (November 13, 2019) – Arizona Western College students can stop by the campus library for help with research topics, citations, and finding resources including peer-reviewed articles as part of an upcoming Research Party.

Librarians will be available to assist students in the Instruction Room of the AWC/NAU Academic Library on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be snacks and treats provided. The event is free and open to all students.
