Yuma, AZ (May 3, 2018) – Twelve AWC Innovation Fund projects, which were funded in January as part of the AWC Strategic Plan 2025, are underway at four locations in the college district. These Innovation Fund teams are focused on creating student-centered, thriving communities, and several of them are starting to see great things happen.

The celebration will feature graduating students from AWC as well as Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and University or Arizona. This is a first-ever combined commencement celebration with representation from all three universities at a community college.
AWC Students have opportunity to develop a business plan for their own inventions
Yuma, AZ (May 3, 2018) – The Arizona Western College Innovation Fund Committee granted money for the Matador Business Incubator. This new resource center will be available to AWC students that are admitted to the resource center this fall. Students will have access to resources, weekly seminars and hands on guidance from experienced professionals that could not otherwise afford consulting fees on their own. Fiscal management, planning drives proposed zero-tax increase budget
Yuma, AZ (May 1, 2018) – Arizona Western College invites the media to attend the Annual La Cosecha (The Harvest) Banquet on Thursday, May 17, in the Schoening Conference Center, located in the 3C Building of the Yuma Campus. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and the program starts at 6:30 p.m.
Dr. Michael Garriga to discuss work, give public reading
Yuma, AZ (April 30, 2018) – The community is invited to the Distinguished Visiting Writer Series on Wednesday, May 9, featuring “The Book of Duels” author Dr. Michael Garriga.
The series will begin with Garriga discussing his work, fiction, and craft from 1:40 to 2:55 p.m. in room BA 111 of the AWC Yuma Campus. He will also give a public reading of his work at 6:30 p.m. at the AWC Theater.
Both events are free and open to the public.
